Yes. It is possible!

Wool blankets have many uses. This is a great handmade gift. It is also popular with charities and hospitals. Tie blankets are easy to make, inexpensive, and provide soft, warm comfort to the recipient.Everything you need to know about making rugs, including tips and tricks, how to make a rug quickly and quickly I will explain the process.

Whether you're starting with a Christmas gift or looking for craft ideas, the seamless fleece blanket for her is such an easy project. Most fabrics fray in the wash. That means you either have to sew the blanket and turn it inside out or sew a tie on the edge. But wool doesn't fray, so making a wool blanket is much easier! If you can cut and knot the fabric, you can make a seamless rug.

These simple blankets are made with two layers of wool, making them extremely comfortable and warm. I like to use a pattern on top and a coordinating layer underneath, but you can use whatever you like. When gifting a blanket, choose a wool print to match the recipient's taste. It's fun, isn't it?

Tips for tying a wool blanket without sewing

The process is simple: Place two batting pieces on top of each other and trim them to a straight edge. Then tie the two layers together using one of four simple techniques: knot, braid, fringe, or a cute little bow, then trim the ends.

Delivery

Sharp Scissors: When I say sharp, I mean very sharp! The bad news is that this project is sure to slow them down as they have a lot of work to do! Rotary Cutter can also be used. But I prefer old fashioned scissors. The cut doesn't have to be perfect.

Ruler: for measurements.

4" x 4" Paper: This is optional, but you can easily cut off the first corner.

Cut Noodles: I have to say I love these.I've done them twice on the kitchen floor. But it's not particularly friendly!

Wool too, of course.

How much fabric do you need?

You can make any size blanket. For baby blankets, plan to purchase 1 yard for each fabric used. Children's blankets require 1.5 meters of fabric (2 x 1.5 meters = 3 meters total). Wool is 60 inches wide, so half a yard is about 60 inches by 54 inches.

If you're making a blanket for teens or adults, buy 2 yards of each color of wool (4 yards total) and you'll have a size of 60 by 72. is also 4 to 10 inches smaller in each direction.

Step 1: Cut straight edges

To make a blanket, the edges of the fabric should be smoothed. Lay the fabric behind the blanket on a flat surface such as a desk. B. Table. B. Bottom, right (front) side of the fabric down. The anti-pilling right side is the fluff side or the side where the print stands out. Smooth out wrinkles in the fabric. Then put the outer dough on top, right side up. Flatten the dough and bring the edges together as close as possible.

At this point, the edges of the fabric may not be perfectly straight. Sometimes the ears aren't perfectly straight, and sometimes the fabric store cuts and bends the raw ears. Also, the printed wool version may be slightly wider/narrower than the regular version. All these issues will be less once the ceiling is finished. Smooth out the two layers of dough as easily as possible. Then use scissors or a rotary knife and a cutting mat and a ruler to straighten the edges fairly straight. Cut two pieces of fabric at the same time so that they are the same size. Do not cut too much. Don't worry if the edges aren't perfectly straight. No one will notice when the quilt is finished.

Create Cut Template

(Optional)All four methods of making a seamless blanket cut along the edges of two layers of fabric a few inches deep and at least an inch wide. create. In fact, trimming the edges takes the most time on most of these blankets. Don't overemphasize precise cuts. It's okay if some strips are slightly wider than others when the quilt is finished. I like to make templates out of cardboard so I can cut them faster. This is especially useful when making multiple blankets. Get a piece of lightweight cardboard (such as a cereal box) or cardboard-like cardboard. Cut to the same width and depth as your quilt. Place the cardstock over the quilt, lining up the edges, and trim the fabric with each cut of cardstock. When you reach the edge of the box, pick it up and place it over the next blanket. You can also make a square template and cut each corner to the size you need (dimensions are given in the instructions). any ceiling type). You can also use this square to measure the depth of your cut. You can see how I feel about the template in the video below the Blank Video heading above and in the printable instructional card at the end of the post.

Cut all four edges of the strip

Cut a 5 x 5 inch square at each corner. Then cut 5 inches along all four edges of the blanket, 1 inch apart. It is convenient to use a template or ruler to measure the cut. You can also estimate cuts instead of measuring. Make it slightly wider than the width of your fingers. Note that we treat two fabrics as one.

Tying a balloon knot

Then take each strip (keep the two layers together) and tie them like a balloon. Lift the strap with your right hand. Wrap it around one finger of your left hand. Complete the balloon tie by passing the end of the strip through the loop you just made (just like tying a balloon). Tighten the knot. Continue tying each strip around the edge of the blanket.

Note: I prefer balloon knots. However, if this knot is too difficult, you can use another type of knot. Separate the two layers of fringe and tie them in a square knot.

How do I make a fleece blanket with a bow trim?

If you're tired of the classic lace-up fleece blanket, try a fun and creative alternative. Instead of tying two layers of fleece together, use thread to create a cute little bow around the perimeter of the blanket.

Place the bottom layer of fleece on the floor and start right side down.Lay it flat and place the top layer of fleece on top and right side up.Smooth the top layer and match the edges as closely as possible. increase. Cut straight along the edge and trim both layers of fabric to the same size.

Cut

Cut 2 x 2 inch squares at each corner. Make cuts 2 inches deep and 3 inches along all four edges of the blanket. As you approach the next corner, notice how many inches you have left. You may need to adjust some cuts to make it a little narrower or wider to fit.

Punch holes in the strip

Use a precision knife to punch a small hole in the top center of each strip.

Pass the thread through the hole

Cut a meter of thread and thread it through the thread needle. Thread the needle through the first hole (use a toothpick to thread through the hole if you don't have a thread needle). Thread all the thread through the hole, leaving a 2 inch tail. Loop the thread back and thread it through the hole in the second strip. Pull through nearly all of the thread, but don't pull it too tight. It should be wrapped around the edge of the blanket as shown in the image below.

Cut the thread

Continue winding the thread and thread it through each hole. More threads need to be cut to wrap the blanket. Once the thread has been pulled through each strip, cut the thread along the edge of the blanket.

Fly

Using your fingers, crimp the end of each strap into a strong concertina-like accordion and tie the cord into a tight, double-knotted loop.Repeat all the way around the ceiling.
